Andy Davis

Watergrass – A Seaweed Operetta is a living painting, sculptural installation, and community musical production merging humans, sargassum, and the sun. In the original score, libretto and stage direction by artist Andy Davis, the cycles of bliss and desire foreground against the backdrop of ecological urgency, using seaweed as a metaphor of entanglement and resilience. The work was produced in collaboration with musicians from Galveston, Houston and surrounding communities.

Andy Davis is an itinerant artist drifting between painting, theater, movement and moving image. Davis has performed and exhibited both within the US and internationally.
